Malbec Reserva

Mendoza is undoubtedly one of the great winegrowing regions of the Southern Hemisphere due to its location at the foot of the mighty Andes. Blessed by clean mountain runoff and a hot summer, Malbec ripens to perfection unlike anywhere else in the world. Deeply extracted and fresh, our Malbec pleases the palate with a silky texture, complex fruit and spice.

Tasting notes

This earnest Reserve Malbec has a deep bluish color and fresh aromas of crushed dark fruits including plum, blackberry, cherry and pomegranate. It has a great structure and complexity; beefy and velvety with a long spicy finish.

Food pairings

Pairs perfectly with grilled ribeye steaks, must we say more?
El Trator celebrates the old fashioned winefarming methods that date back over a century in Argentina. Our El Tractor Malbec epitomizes the tradition founded by French ex-pats after the plight of Phyloxera devestated Europe's vineyards in the late 19th century and brought the Malbec grape to new heights in Argentina.

BRAND BACKGROUND:

Mendoza is undoubtedly one of the great winegrowing regions of the Southern Hemisphere due to its location at the foot of the mighty Andes. Blessed by clean mountain runoff and hot summer, Malbec ripens to perfection unlike anywhere else in the world.

WINE BACKGROUND:

Our winery is located in the Province of Mendoza. Here, at the foot of the Andes, we find perfect conditions in which to craft our wines in reminiscence of the early days of winemaking.
Once working on the land and symbolic history of our country, El Tractor depicts one of our ancient steam engines that have rested in our vineyards for more than 100 years.

HARVEST:

April. Grapes are sorted by hand.

WINEMAKING / VINIFICATION:

Completely mature grapes are crushed right after harvest. When the primary fermentation is complete, the wine is stored in Slavonian oak casks where it performs malolactic fermentation.

AGING & BOTTLING:

Aging 12 months in French oak barrels. Storage in bottle for 3-6 months.

ELEVAGE:

Vineyards are located at 3,940 feet above sea level.

CLIMATE:

Our vineyards have alluvial soils, a wide temperature range between day and night and irrigation from the mineralized meltwater of the Andes Mountains, providing the conditions for exceptional Malbec grapes and wine.
